DVV International is an international non-governmental organization dedicated to adult education. Founded in Germany, DVV International has been working for many years to promote adult education as an essential tool for sustainable development, social inclusion, and individual empowerment. DVV International Tunisia, established in the country since 2019, is a local branch of DVV International, operating specifically in Tunisia. This organization is committed to supporting the development of adult education in the country. It collaborates with government institutions, civil society organizations, educational institutions, and other partners to promote access to adult education in Tunisia. The efforts of DVV International Tunisia aim to enhance adult skills, promote vocational training, and encourage lifelong learning, thus contributing to the empowerment of individuals and social progress in the Tunisian context.

4. Descriptif
Hanut ATLAS is an initiative of the ATLAS Foundation that aims to contribute to regional development by reaching out to vulnerable people in remote and poor areas with a holistic approach that accompanies beneficiaries along the entire value chain. This initiative is part of ATLAS Foundation’s efforts since 1990 to support private initiative and leadership of women, men, youth and disabled people of all ages making the Tunisian citizen a resource of innovation and creativity that values a rich and unique cultural heritage in Africa and the MENA region.
The word Hanut goes back to the traditional grocery store that brought together citizens of different ages and levels around a meeting point the « Hanut » playing the role of a source of supply of goods, services and information (novelties), the ATLAS Foundation values this name that unites and resembles people (metamorphosis) to transform it into a federating project where entrepreneurs meet with consumers, technical guidance and financial support to create an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem.

5. Technical training and supervision
This component covers capacity building of entrepreneurs in terms of project management, communication, hospitality, financial literacy, and intellectual property.
A thematic training cycle will be organized for the beneficiaries (in cohort) at the end of the cycle the beneficiary will have the title of « Entrepreneur-member of Hanut ATLAS ».

6. Funding
It is a non-profit activity aimed at increasing the income of economically disadvantaged populations by financing profitable activities. It aims to solve local problems of access to finance for the most vulnerable populations and to strengthen and stabilize their projects. This link covers the granting of micro-credit (1000dt – 5000dt 1st cohort) with a Flat interest rate of 10% for defined repayment periods (monthly annuity) according to the beneficiary’s activity cycle. The interest income will be used to build up a microcredit capital and feed the training activity of the cohorts.
The ATLAS foundation aims to constitute a guarantee fund of 100 000 TND to cover itself against the risk of non-repayment and to perpetuate the microcredit activity.
The repayment of the microcredit annuities will be under the supervision of the ATLAS foundation which will ensure the marketing of the beneficiaries’ products and will ensure the automatic deduction of the microcredit annuities.

7. Commercialization and labeling
The ATLAS Foundation will support the marketing of local products through the targeting of local distribution chains and export opportunities.
The foundation aims to encourage the creation of « Hanut ATLAS » distributors and an e-commerce showcase (in progress) to ensure marketing.
A media action will be ensured to make the products known.

8. Payments
The ATLAS foundation aims to create an inclusive and sustainable concept, following a cycle in financial education, the foundation will aim to privilege the use of the payment solution of the Tunisian Post D17. The Tunisian Post, through its service rate in the regions, represents a strategic partner in this initiative.
The beneficiaries will have technical support to use the D17 solution.
The Tunisian Post represents a financial institution highly appreciated by the Tunisian citizen, offering attractive costs, it is in this sense that it rhymes perfectly with the concept of Hanut ATLAS which recalls the origins with a modern and inclusive vision.
9. Circular Economy
Hanut ATLAS is a Zero Tolerance to Waste initiative. The waste not yet valorized will appeal to the technical support of the National Agency for Scientific Research.
