ATLAS FOUNDATION
The ATLAS Foundation was established in 1990 to address the needs of the most impoverished communities. The Foundation focuses on delivering its interventions primarily in underprivileged rural areas to benefit disadvantaged regions and populations.
The ATLAS Foundation has set several objectives through its initiatives, including advancing the economic and social conditions of the poor populations residing in rural areas, carrying out projects to benefit the targeted communities, preserving cultural assets, and fostering the spirit of creativity and initiative while safeguarding the environment and infrastructure. The Foundation is committed to mobilizing any resource that can help achieve its objectives and the projects it initiates.
ATLAS's Projects
To date, the ATLAS Foundation has executed 30 projects with a total value of 7.136 million dinars, providing aid to 7000 families residing in the governorates of Beja, Bizerte, and Jendouba. The Foundation’s activities are diverse, covering various areas such as poverty alleviation, environment and quality of life improvement, water management, small-scale farming, promotion of rural women, education, basic health, and creation of stable income sources, particularly through micro-credit. All these actions are geared towards improving the living conditions of the impoverished populations and promoting irreversible economic and social development.
Due to its remarkable efforts, the ATLAS Foundation has been accredited by the United Nations as an observer at the Economic and Social Council of the UN. Additionally, the ATLAS LEADERS branch was established to bring together young leaders from various fields, such as young entrepreneurs, government and private sector executives, professionals, bankers, and engineers, to achieve the Foundation’s objectives.
